This demo shows how eFuse in auto-retry mode can charge very large capacitors in various configurations while guaranteeing safety to address needs for various power applications in industrial, telecom, cloud power, and automotive segments.

The industrial control panel demonstrates how eFuse can protect the 24 V industrial power supply better than PPTCs with superior response time and protection features.

The demo also shows how eFuses can replace a combination of fuel plus relay with more enhanced diagnostics, driving solenoid valves, and detect and protecting an actuator malfunction (Standard IEC 61508).

15-watt SiC High-Voltage Auxiliary Power Supply for HEV & BEV Applications

This demo shows the 15 watt SiC High-Voltage Auxiliary Power Supply evaluation board, a highly efficient and primary-side regulated (PSR) auxiliary power supply targeting HEV and EV automotive power trains.

The design provides a stable 15 V output and 15 W over a wide (250 V to 900 V) DC voltage input range suitable for 400 V and 800 V battery systems. The board employs the NCV1362 quasi-resonant peak current PSR flyback controller, the 3-lead cost-optimized NVHL160N120SC1 160 m 1200 V silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET, and the FFSD0665B-F085 SiC diode.

The demo of the NCV57252 evaluation driver board highlights the main parameters and functional performance of the NCV57252 galvanic isolated gate driver.

VE-TracTM Single Side Direct Cooling Traction Inverter

We demonstrate the 150 kW traction inverter solution for HEV based on the ON Semiconductor automotive power module VE-TracTM Direct NVH820S75L4SPB platform.

This demo shows a full High Voltage Traction Inverter using VE-Trac Single Side Direct Cooling Full-Bridge 6-Pack Power module for automotive for hybrid and electric vehicle traction. The traction inverter includes a BUS link capacitor, gate driver board, and heatsink.

VE-TracTM Dual Side Cooling Traction Inverter

We demonstrate the 150 kW traction inverter solution for HEV based on the ON Semiconductor automotive power module VE-TracTM Dual NVG800A75L4DSC platform.

This demo shows a full High Voltage Traction Inverter using VE-TracTM Dual Side Cooling Half-Bridge Power module for automotive for hybrid and electric vehicle traction inverter applications. The traction inverter includes a BUS link capacitor, gate driver board, heatsink with coolant inlet/outlet, and 3 DSC modules

Silicon Carbide Solutions

This demo highlights Silicon Carbide (SiC) solutions, including solar and wind power, vehicle electrification, cloud computing, EV charging, and 5G communication applications.

The featured display case includes various SiC modules (A1HPM, A3HPM, PIM QO, PIM Q1, PIM Q2, F1, and F2) that solution designers can use for deployment in these applications. We have already released the selected SiC devices and seek to gain more visibility at PCIM 2021.


Smart Building

A Smart Building enables various IoT devices to communicate with each other over the internet via an intelligent network and control infrastructure that can separate the application from the core function of the connected devices, the provisioning of new devices, applications, and services. Intelligent building infrastructure supports real-time remote sensing of the interior environment, control, and programming of remote smart devices. Connected lighting systems deployed with an array of environmental and image sensors offer power savings and high-efficiency together while addressing comfort and safety concerns. Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology provides safe transfer of power from power sourcing equipment (PSE) to the powered devices (PD). ON Semiconductor provides prototyping and complete solutions throughout the entire connected building design process, featuring energy-efficient sensing, connectivity, and compute SoCs.

In this demo, we demonstrate the 45 W USB-PD compatible evaluation board – Power over Ethernet input voltage range compatible with constant voltage power supply.
