ON Semiconductor Business Update Related to COVID-19 Pandemic

March 11, 2020 Update

The COVID-19 outbreak continues to present new challenges for the semiconductor industry as weak demand in China drives supply chain worry. The OECD recently warned that the outbreak could cut global economic growth outlook in half. As of today, there have been no major changes to our sites capacities both in and outside the region. ON Semiconductor continues to enforce travel restrictions and/or flexible-work-place policies in regions and countries that are experiencing high reports of cases in order to ensure employee safety. By proactively protecting our employees, we are also ensuring the highest reliability of supply to our customers.

At present, our Chinese facilities are fully operational. Additionally, we have prepared sufficient mask capacity to keep our employees safe & operations running. Supply chain outside China including Japan, South Korea and Italy are currently reporting no impact at this time. We are seeing Logistic/transit costs continue to increase each week. ON Semiconductor continues to absorb these expenses in return for maintaining continuity of supply to our customers. The company currently is reviewing any potential open risks including shortage of lead frames. Procurement and external manufacturing are exploring strategies to mitigate the situation.

February 27, 2020 Update

The latest Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reports are indicating potential longer-term business impacts outside of China related to the COVID-19 (coronavirus). The situation remains fluid and we have a robust, proactive business continuity process and team in place that is monitoring and working through this evolving situation. February 13, 2020 Update

The coronavirus situation remains fluid and our suppliers along with our customers, in and outside of mainland China, are impacted by the same constraints and delays. While our company and our suppliers have their own control and prevention measures in place, in compliance with the local requirements, we may continue to experience additional delays within our expanded supply chain. February 7, 2020 Update

ON Semiconductor continues to communicate rescheduled orders to align with the recently extended holidays in China in response to the Coronavirus. We encourage customers to be vigilant in reviewing their dates to contact their local customer service representative if there are questions on affected parts. Customer buyers are encouraged to follow up with their local customer service representative on any known issues with existing dates to prioritize Line Down Escalations. In compliance with China’s State Council, we plan to return factories in China to full operations by February 10th. There may be secondary effects (e.g. inbound/outbound logistics) due to the quarantine rules established by individual cities. We are monitoring, but delays are expected and will be difficult to predict. Our goal is to outperform our schedules already communicated. Please continue to work with your customer service representative to receive up-to-date delivery information on your current orders.

January 28, 2020 Update

In response to the Coronavirus, full factory shutdowns at our China locations are scheduled to take place consistent with China’s State Council holiday extension . This situation is fluid and ON Semiconductor will comply with all legal rules and regulations, keeping in mind that more stringent travel and work restrictions may be placed on certain provinces within China. We are currently assessing production and distribution delays based on this unanticipated viral outbreak. We are doing everything in our control to mitigate the impact and ensure our customers receive quality products, keeping in mind that employee safety is our number one priority and will not be compromised. Please continue to work with your customer service representative to receive up-to-date delivery information on your current order. You may also contact us through [email protected].
